Delay in Credit Union Opening
Due to construction issues related to renovation, there will be a delay in the re-opening of the Federal Printing and Engraving Credit Union, located on the first floor of Leahy Hall. The credit union is expected to be open for business by the end of January. The credit union asks customers to be patient during this delay.
Weight Watchers at Work
CUA and the Washington, D.C., branch of Weight Watchers International invite the campus community to participate in the Weight Watchers at Work program. Registration for the spring session will be held on Thursday, Jan. 13, at 1 p.m. in the Pryzbyla Center, Room 351. The 15-week session runs until May 5 and costs $150. Meetings will be held on Thursdays at 1 p.m. in the Pryzbyla Center, Room 351 (no meetings on Inauguration Day or Easter Thursday). Is CUA Open or Closed?
The Office of Public Affairs wishes to remind faculty and staff that, in case of inclement weather, there are two quick ways to find out if the university is closed or if opening is delayed. The information is usually available no later than 6 a.m. by checking the CUA Web site at http://www.cua.edu or by calling the university’s main number — 202-319-5000. In addition, the public affairs office contacts all local TV outlets and major radio outlets, which also report the information.
Training for Cardinal Station
During the Christmas break, CUA upgraded the current version of Cardinal Students. The new Web-based version, Cardinal Station, improves functionality for campus users while providing the same information on student records. The only true difference is the "look and feel," since this latest version operates via the Web. The new Web site address is http://cardinalstation.cua.edu . The current icon on employee PCs (the cardinal bird) no longer provides access to the system. Once in the Web site, users can navigate via the menu on the left — the former "client" applications are under the heading "Student Admin/Human Resources."
To assist with the new navigational process, the Office of Business Services and the Office of the Registrar will provide voluntary training. The training schedule is as follows:
— Jan. 10: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
— Jan. 11: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
— Jan. 12: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
— Jan. 13: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
— Jan. 18: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
— Jan. 19: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
With the exception of Jan. 19, all classes will be held in Shahan Hall, Room 302. The Jan. 19 class will meet in Pangborn Hall, Room 301.
