Monday, May 2, and Tuesday, May 3
The Institute for Policy Research & Catholic Studies presents "120th Anniversary of Rerum Novarum: Church, Labor, and the New Things of the Modern World," a conference featuring keynote addresses by Cardinal Peter Turkson, president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, and John Sweeney, former AFL-CIO president. The conference will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. It is the last in a series of events celebrating the theme of President John Garvey’s inaugural year — Intellect and Virtue: The Idea of a Catholic University. Edward J. Campus Ministry

Mass and Adoration Schedule
Beginning Sunday, May 8, the only university Mass held on Sundays will be at 9 p.m. in St. Vincent dePaul Chapel.

This will be the final week for University daily Masses and praise and worship adoration. There will be no daily Masses or adoration on campus through the summer.

Baccalaureate Mass Choir
Students who are interested in singing in the choir at the Baccalaureate Mass on Friday, May 13, should e-mail David Pennington, associate campus minister, at penningd@cua.edu.

Donation Drive
The Office of Campus Ministry sponsors the annual Grab and Go Donation Drive. Students leaving campus are encouraged to donate unwanted items in good condition, which will be given to the Salvation Army, Goodwill, and Better World Books. For a schedule and locations of donation drop-off spots, or to volunteer to help, visit http://service.cua.edu/donationsdrive.cfm.  

Prayer Book Submissions
The Office of Campus Ministry is creating new CUA prayer books containing prayers for students written by students. Submissions can be sent to penningd@cua.edu.

University Garage Cleaning
On Tuesday, May 3, and Wednesday, May 4, the first and second floors of the University Garage, located at the Columbus School of Law, will be cleaned by the Office of Facilities Maintenance and Operations between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. All garage permit holders will need to park on the lower level in the southeast corner of the garage both days while the garage is being cleaned. Accommodations for Commencement Ceremonies
To ensure that disability accommodation needs can be met, graduating students who need them or who have invited guests who require them should contact the Office of Disability Support Services as soon as possible at cua-disabilityservices@cua.edu or 202-319-5211.

Cap and Gown Information
The CUA Bookstore announces the following important dates for graduates needing to pick up or obtain regalia for the May 14 Commencement ceremonies. Those who have pre-ordered master’s/doctoral rental gowns as well as walk-ins (anyone who has not pre-ordered) can pick up gowns at the CUA Bookstore, lower level, on Thursday, May 12, and Friday, May 13, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, May 14, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Individuals must present ID, receipt, or online confirmation. Master’s and doctoral graduates must also provide a $60 cash deposit to pick up their rentals.
 
Master's and doctoral rental regalia must be returned to the CUA Bookstore immediately following the last ceremony the graduate participates in, no later than 5:30 p.m. on May 14.
 
The bookstore also offers a full selection of CUA diploma frames and graduation-related merchandise. For more information, call 202-319-5232.

Summer Housing
The Office of Housing Services is accepting applications from CUA students for summer housing. Current CUA students do not need to be enrolled in summer classes to be eligible for summer housing. Space is still available in Opus Hall from May 15 to August 7. For more information, visit http://housing.cua.edu.
