Faculty and Staff Tribute to Father O'Connell
CUA administrators, faculty and staff are invited to a reception celebrating "A Legacy of Leadership," a tribute to Father O'Connell, on Thursday, May 20, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Edward J. Pryzbyla University Center, Great Room. There will be a special presentation at 4 p.m.

Faculty and staff are invited to visit the Office of Campus Activities, Pryzbyla Center, Room 107, during business hours May 17 to May 19 to sign a gift that will be presented to Father O'Connell. For more information, call 202-319-5100. 

Summer Dining Hours
Summer dining service hours begin on Monday, May 17, and continue until Friday, Aug. 8.

From May 17 to June 27, all summer meal plan holders can use their plans for the
all-you-care-to-eat buffet in the Food Court Quiet Room. From June 28 through Aug. 8, summer meal plans can be used in the Student Restaurant.

  • Food Court Quiet Room
    Open Monday, May 17, to Sunday, June 27, to summer meal plan holders, campus community and guests.
    Breakfast will be served from 7 to 9 a.m.; lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; dinner from 5 to 7 p.m.
  • Student Restaurant
    Open Monday, June 28, through Friday, Aug. 8, to summer meal plan holders, campus community and guests.
    Breakfast will be served from 7 to 9 a.m.; lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; dinner from 5 to 7 p.m.
  • Pryzbyla Food Court
    Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Friday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday closed.
  • Starbuck’s
    Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday closed.
  • Loft C-store
    Monday through Friday, noon to 7 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday closed.

Surplus Equipment and Furniture Sale
The Office of Environmental Health and Safety announces the availability of two DeWalt table saws, one Makita miter saw and six 60-drawer card catalog cabinets, available for viewing by appointment.

Also available is residence hall furniture, for purchase and pickup only on Thursday, May 20, and Friday, May 21. All sales are first-come, first-serve.

Cardinal Basketball Academy
Coach Steve Howes will present the 18th Annual Boys and Girls Basketball Camp at Catholic University. The camp is offered to children ages 7 through 15. Sessions will take place Monday, June 21, to Friday, June 25; Monday, July 26, to Friday, July 30; and Monday, Aug. 16, to Friday, Aug. 20. Stepping Into Spring Winners
The Office of Human Resources is pleased to announce the winners of the recent fitness challenge “Stepping Into Spring.” The team with the most steps was from the John K. Mullen of Denver Memorial Library, with an average of 172,242 steps per team member.

In total, Team Mullen members walked 1,722,421 steps during the two-week challenge. Congratulations to team members Gena Chattin, Samantha Saporito, Meghan Gates, Dustin Booher, Kitty Tynan, Lynn Weinstein, Miranda Rodriguez, Shanyun Zhang, Ramona Sampsell and Michelle Bolger.

The top three individual steppers were Samantha Saporito from Mullen Library with 466,366 steps, Laura Cocolchos from the Office of University Development with 272,380 steps, and Lourdes Alvarez from the Center for Medieval and Byzantine Studies with 256,422 steps.
