Work-Study Supervisor Training
All work-study supervisors are required to attend training in order to hire work-study students.

New supervisor training will be held in the Edward J. Pryzbyla University Center, Room 327, on Tuesday, Aug. 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 19, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Returning supervisor training will be offered online at http://careers.cua.edu/supervisors.cfm beginning Aug. 5.

Coming Soon — ePay Employee Self Service
Over the next couple of months, the Office of Payroll will be rolling out ePay, which will enable employees to view their payroll information online through Cardinal Station.

New capabilities will include:

  • the ability to view and print paychecks and pay stubs.
  • the ability to view and print W-2 forms and settings.
  • the ability to view direct deposit account set-up.

New Director of International Student and Scholar Services
The Center for Global Education announces the appointment of Roy Braine as the director of International Student and Scholar Services.

Born in Sri Lanka, Braine has dedicated his career to international education, specifically advising foreign students and scholars. He developed this interest as a result of his own experiences as an international student.

He has been working in the field of international education for the past 10 years. He has extensive experience with regulatory information as well as experience with short-term exchange programs.

Children's School Supplies and Clothing Drive
The Office of Dining Services and ARAMARK are holding a clothing drive for Mary's Center for Maternal and Child Care in Northwest D.C. Donations of onesies, pacifiers, diapers and school supplies are being collected in the Edward J. Pryzbyla University Center at the first- and second-floor entrances through Monday, Aug. 2. Cardinal Basketball Academy
Coach Steve Howes will present the 18th Annual Boys and Girls Basketball Camp at Catholic University. The camp is offered to children ages 7 through 15. Sessions will take place Monday, Aug. 16, to Friday, Aug. 20. Discounts are available for children of CUA faculty and staff. Modification to the 403(b) Plan
A Summary of Material Modifications has been posted to the 403(b) plan. It can be viewed at either

In addition, new Summary Plan Descriptions and a Summary of Material Modifications have been posted for medical, dental, vision, flexible spending, life insurance and disability plans.  They can only be viewed by logging in to www.cuabenefits.com (click on Library, then Documents).

Free Stress Management Series for Faculty and Staff
The Carebridge Corporation and Office of Human Resources are offering free seminars on stress management to all faculty and staff. All seminars will be held at 1 p.m. in the Pryzbyla Center, Room 351. Brown bag lunches are welcome and no R.s.v.p.s are necessary. Important Updates for Tuition Exchange and Tuition Assistance

  • Tuition Exchange
    The 2011-2012 Tuition Exchange Application is now posted at http://humanresources.cua.edu/benefits/exchange.cfm.
  • Tuition Assistance
    CUA faculty and staff who wish to receive the tuition assistance benefit for themselves or dependents for the fall 2010 semester must submit their Application for Tuition Assistance to the Office of Human Resources by Friday, Sept. 10.

    As a reminder, employees must submit an application for tuition assistance by the deadline for every semester that they wish to receive the benefit.
