Donation Drive for SOME
Campus Ministry's Social Justice Committee is sponsoring an end-of-the-year donation drive for excess clothing, non-perishable food and reusable items to benefit SOME (So Others Might Eat). The drive will take place through Sunday, May 10. Donations can be dropped off in designated boxes in each residence hall. For more information or to donate larger items, contact Lauren Bilich at

Tanzania Container
The Office of Campus Ministry will be packing the container to be shipped to Tanzania on Monday, May 4. Many volunteers will be needed as there will be only two hours in which to pack the container. To sign up, go to

Summer Mass

Commencement Choir
CUA students, faculty and staff are invited to sing at the Baccalaureate Mass for the class of 2009. Rehearsals will take place Monday, May 11, from noon to 2 p.m.; Tuesday, May 12, from 10 a.m. to noon; Wednesday, May 13, from noon to 2 p.m. in Ward Hall, John Paul Rehearsal Room. On Thursday, May 14, from 1 to 4 p.m. there will be a dress rehearsal in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Great Upper Church. Mullen Library Open All Night for Exam Week
The John K. Mullen of Denver Memorial Library will be open extended hours for final exams. Library hours will be:

Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 3: 9 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Monday, May 4, 8 a.m., to Friday, May 8, midnight
Saturday, May 9: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Limited services will be available after midnight. The stacks will be closed, but laptops will be available for loan. Everyone entering the library will be asked to show ID. Only those showing a CUA ID will be admitted after 2 a.m. For more information, call 202-319-5070.

Pryzbyla Center End-of-Semester Hours
The Pryzbyla Center will operate as follows from Reading Day through Commencement weekend:

Four-Week Mini Session of Weight Watchers at Work
The Office of Human Resources and the Washington, D.C., branch of Weight Watchers International invite students, faculty and staff to join a Weight Watchers at Work program to be held on campus for four weeks (with the hope of then having a 12-week summer session). The program will teach participants how to make wise choices, eat healthy, enjoy food and exercise. The program fee for the four weeks is $56. Meetings will be held at 1 p.m. each Wednesday in Leahy Hall, Room 100, beginning May 6. For more information, contact Marion Ficke at 202-319-5870 or

Fall Semester Housing is Still Available
Current students who have not made their plans for housing next year should know that Housing Services still has a variety of room type options available for the fall 2009 semester. Single, double, triple, and suite or apartment style spaces are available now or may be available during the course of the summer. Students interested in on-campus housing should complete and submit a Residence Hall and Dining Services Application form to Housing Services in Cardinal Hall, Room 160; the housing deposit can be waived at this time. Cardinal Basketball Academy Camp Dates Announced
The Catholic University men's and women's basketball programs will host a series of instructional camps throughout the summer at the Raymond A. DuFour Center. The camps are scheduled for June 15 to 19, June 22 to 26, and Aug. 17 to 21.

Open to students ages 7 to 15, the camps will aim to improve the fundamental skills of basketball while increasing each athlete's understanding of and confidence in all phases of the game. With a low counselor-to-camper ratio, the Cardinal Basketball Academy will offer all players the opportunity to receive individual attention during the week.
