Student Medical Insurance Information
It is the policy of the university that all full-time domestic students and all international students, both full and part time, have medical insurance coverage. Students will automatically be enrolled in the plan offered through the university unless they waive enrollment prior to the Oct. 1, 2009, deadline.

Students may waive the CUA Student Medical Insurance Plan as long as they have comparable health insurance coverage that provides benefits that are equal to or better than the university plan.

Part-time domestic students are not required to waive.

To waive enrollment students must go to www.srstudentcenter.com by the deadline date for each semester. Students please select 'find my school' or search by policy number 2009-482-1 to access information for The Catholic University of America. There is no option to submit a hard copy paper waiver.

Medical insurance information provided to Student Health Services, Athletics or any other department is not shared and does not constitute a waiver of medical insurance. The student medical plan charge is not refundable or transferable.

Reminders are sent to student CUA mail accounts prior to the deadlines so that students can avoid being automatically enrolled. It is the student's responsibility to waive each academic year. Failure to submit an online waiver application will result in default enrollment.

Waiver deadlines:
All students enrolling for the fall semester: Oct. 1, 2009
New students enrolling for the spring semester: Feb. 15, 2010
New students enrolling for the summer semester: May 31, 2010

2009-2010 Parking Permits
The Department of Public Safety announces that parking permits for the 2009-2010 academic year are available for purchase. The Campus Transportation Management and Identification Office accepts cash, credit and debit cards (MasterCard, Visa and Discover), checks and money orders. Full-time faculty and staff are encouraged to use payroll deduction for their vehicle registration, which offers a convenient alternative to a lump-sum payment. Part-time benefit-eligible employees who will be employed for a full academic semester are also encouraged to use payroll deduction. Faculty and staff registering for parking must appear in person and should be prepared to provide their personal contact information (name, address and telephone number) and vehicle information (license plate number, state of registration, make, model and year of the vehicle).

The Campus Transportation Management and Identification Office has temporarily relocated to the Pryzbyla Center, Room 321, to accommodate the number of people registering. The office will reopen on Monday Aug. 31, in its regular location at Leahy Hall, Room 121. A full schedule of hours and locations is available at http://publicsafety.cua.edu/vehicle.cfm. For more information, contact the Department of Public Safety, Campus Transportation Management and Identification Office, at 202-319-5113.

The Office of the Controller has provided guidance on eligibility for the purchase of parking permits using departmental funds. Fund managers who plan to utilize departmental funds to purchase parking permits should familiarize themselves with the new policy and form. For more information, visit http://treasurer.cua.edu/Controller/gen_actg/DeptParkingPmts.cfm.
