New Service Contract
The Office of Purchasing announces that in researching the university’s previous maintenance contract with The Dynamic Difference, which services the printers and typewriters on campus, the office determined CUA's annual agreement for these services has cost the university $3,300. The service history from 2005 to 2006 shows that CUA offices and departments made approximately 21 calls for service. In 2006-2007 there have been 31 service calls, costing the university $2,482.50. The purchasing office has decided to move the current service agreement to a time-and-material contract, which will save the university approximately 33-48 percent. The charges will be as follows:
- $75 per hour plus parts on personal computers and printers.
- $75 per hour plus parts on typewriters.
Offices and departments are advised to call The Dynamic Difference themselves and can expect a response time of one to four hours. The method of payment is the CUA Purchase Card, to be presented at the completion of each service call. Weight Watchers to Start on June 20
The Office of Human Resources and the Washington, D.C., branch of Weight Watchers International invite faculty, staff and students to register for a 12-week program to be held on campus this summer. The official start of the program will be on June 20 at 11:30 a.m. in Leahy 100. After that, meetings will be held weekly on Wednesdays at noon, with the exception of certain holidays. Boys and Girls Basketball Camp
Sessions of the 15th Annual Catholic University Boys and Girls Basketball Camp will be held June 18 to 22 and June 25 to 29. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. These programs are designed to meet the individual and team workout needs for players ages 8-16 of all ability and experience levels. Summer Baseball Camp
CUA Head Baseball Coach Ross Natoli will conduct his 20th Annual Instructional Baseball Camp from July 9 to 13. The camp, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., is open to players ages 8 to 18, of all ability and experience levels. Attendees will be instructed by members of the CUA baseball coaching staff, local college and high school coaches, and college and professional players. Emphasis will be placed on baseball fundamentals as well as exposing talented high school prospects to college recruiters. Individual videotaping included as well as supervised swimming. Extended day available at no additional charge. Cost is $275 per attendee. Group and team discounts are available. Registration is limited. Field Hockey Camp
CUA and Revolution Field Hockey have teamed up to offer a field hockey camp July 15-18. The camp is geared to girls ages 10 to 18 to improve their individual skills, develop a greater understanding of team play and have fun. The session is overnight or extended day.
