Reasonable Accommodations Policy
The Office of Human Resources announces that the university recently adopted a new policy on reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities. The policy can be viewed online at http://policies.cua.edu/EEO//reasonableaccodationsfull.cfm.

CUA provides reasonable accommodations upon request for all qualified individuals with a disability who are employees or applicants for employment. The process is an interactive one, with the employee initiating the request for the accommodation. This request is made to the supervisor, with a copy of the request sent to either human resources or the Office of Equal Opportunity. The person requesting an accommodation will need to provide any necessary medical documentation. What constitutes a reasonable accommodation will be made on a case by case basis. Supervisors and the human resources office are responsible for notifying the equal opportunity office of any accommodations or requests for accommodation brought to their attention.

Questions about the new policy should be directed to Kathryn Bender, acting equal opportunity officer, at 202-319-5142.
