TIAA-CREF Data Security
Newsweek magazine recently published an article citing a TIAA-CREF data security breach last year. TIAA-CREF has asked the Office of Human Resources to assure employees participating in the CUA retirement plan that it recognizes its responsibility to protect participants’ personal information. TIAA-CREF investigated the matter thoroughly, put strict measures in place to further protect data, and notified all participants whose personal information may have been compromised. A TIAA-CREF letter addressed to all participants last December communicates the organization's commitment to data security. The letter can be found on the human resources Web site, http://humanresources.cua.edu/benefits. For more information, call the Office of Human Resources at 202-319-5598.
