Very Rev. David M. O¿Connell, C.M., university president, will host the 12th International Congress of Medieval Canon Law, which is held every four years. The congress ¿ coordinated by Uta-Renate Blumenthal, CUA professor of history, and Kenneth Pennington, Kelly Quinn Professor of Legal and Ecclesiastical History and CUA professor of law ¿ will feature 200 historians and canon lawyers hailing from six continents as well as Catholic Church dignitaries. The U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration will hold its Youth Career Skills Challenge, which will test the academic skills of 200 teenagers from impoverished urban neighborhoods, rural areas and Indian reservations. The challenge will feature contests in mathematics and language arts, and will include a college and job fair. Various locations on campus.
